My Journey

Chief Technologist

CareMobi

With my success at NYU Meyers, Dr. Tina Sadarangani, allowed me the opportunity to partner with her in the development of CareMobi.

I spearheaded the establishment of a new company by helping to formulate and execute a comprehensive business plan. As a visionary leader, I provided strategic direction for the planning and development of the CareMobi app (Apple Store, Google Play Store), ensuring it aligned with industry trends and user needs. Taking a holistic approach, I developed financial budgets and projections, prioritizing fiscal responsibility for sustainable growth. To maintain organizational focus and achieve objectives, I established business and development timelines, guiding the team through project milestones. Crafting the technical vision of the new business, I ensured alignment with industry dynamics and user expectations. Additionally, I successfully procured and managed vendors for application development and design, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results. My collaborative efforts extended to working with cross-functional teams, seamlessly integrating technical and business strategies to achieve overarching goals.

Sr. Director, Technology and Client Services

NYU Meyers College of Nursing

Working at NYU Meyers has provided me with the opportunity to showcase my skills as a technical and organizational leader.

Through hard work and dedication, I built and led a team of fifteen employees, both remote and on-premise. The team supports helpdesk, audiovisual, systems, computer security and web development. I have been entrusted with the responsibility of creating and implementing the technology strategy that aligns with the college's educational, administrative, and research mission.

Most recently, I successfully created and implemented an AWS strategy to support compute, storage, and serverless services. I have also created a computer security strategy for Meyers that has enabled my team to excel in security best practices, meeting all computer security key performance indicators (KPIs) set by NYU leadership.

Going beyond my day-to-day duties, I actively contribute as a technical and strategic leader within the NYU community. My involvement in the University CIO Council, where I served as co-chair from 2019 to 2022, showcases my commitment to organizational-wide initiatives. During this period, I played a pivotal role in establishing an endpoint management and security working group, overseeing the implementation of technologies like WS1 and BigFix with consensus among stakeholders across NYU.

MBA, Specializations in Finance and Management

NYU Stern School of Business

All of my professional success allowed me to attend my dream school, NYU Stern, with a full scholarship. I obtain an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) specializing in Finance and Management. The Stern EMBA program enhanced my finance and managerial skills while allowing me to culturaly grow as it provided me the opportunity to visit and learn from chinese businesses and leaders.

Finishing the Stern program taught me two very important lessons:

  • Getting accepted and successfully completing a top 10 (US News) business school program boils down to how hard you are willingness to work.
  • “If you don’t play politics, politics will be played on you!“ Prof. R. Kabaliswaran "Ten Commandments on Power"

Assistant Director of Information Systems

Maurice A. Deane School of Law, Hofstra University

Hofstra Law gave me the opportunity to put in practice the management skills I learned at University of Central Florida and implemented technology expertise I honed at Lockheed.

At Hofstra I added value by improving customer service at the computer service desk, instituted basic remote computer troubleshooting, hardening computer security, developed a number of web and desktop applications and system administration tools. Furthermore, I implementing automatic lecture capture and event livestream technology.

Hofstra Law taught me that a good work ethic and great customer service is as important technical knowledge.
